Betty Draper would die of jealousy!

A couple months ago, a friend asked me to model for her.  If you know me, I am pretty afraid of cameras.  I have the best hopes of what will turn out but then I see the picture or video and am like, really?  I thought my hair/outfit/shoes/makeup looked cute that day and the picture just doesn't show that.  It's really something I should be in therapy about but instead I just ask to see the pictures and slyly hit delete as I go through them.  Yes, I am THAT girl!   SO, I said yes to the modeling gig with the promise that it would be from my chin down.  In LA, that could get you into trouble.  I drove down to the OC and worked with the fabulous Cake Is Sweet and her wonderful assistant.  They made me feel amazing and fixed every hair out of place.  Now I see why the celebs always look so fab! 

I was so excited once I saw the merchandise I would be modeling.  Two Scissors on Etsy makes and sells the cutest, modern and trendy kitchen aprons.  Every one of the aprons I wanted to take home and make a souffle or something with martini in hand.  Ladies, do yourself a favor and order one for you, the new bride, Mom or Grandma, of your best friend.  Maybe pair it with a cocktail shaker!?!

Viceroy - my favorite hotel AND apron

I love the Viceroy apron and if you have ever been into the hotel in Santa Monica, it's absolutely amazing inside.  I even took pictures of the tile in the lobby bathroom.  I love, love, love green. 

Subway Signs

Sorry, it's been a little nutty with the holidays and work but here are the subway signs I had created.  I will add a picture of them on our wall in a bit.  I ordered them on Etsy from PaperBleu and she was AMAZING to work with. 

They originally were going to add a pop of color to the bathroom but the boyfriend liked them better in the living room, where a pop of color was also very welcome.  I may have gone a little taller if I had known they were going on this wall instead but they still look great!

A splash of color

We decided to go very traditional craftsman in our bathroom and use tile throughout and use very neutral colors.  White, black and gray.  I am loving how it is coming together but now we need a pop of color.  Since I know P doesn't read this blog, I am getting him some custom made subway signs with certain stops that we remember in Boston.  I haven't seen them yet but I am ordering them on Etsy from PaperBleu.  I have decided 2 signs that are 20" x 28" and I found black frames from Aaron Brothers.  Can't wait, hope he loves.  I will post pictures when I am done.  Here are some pictures of bathrooms that are using that pop of color look.

A little Christmas cheer in 2D

The other day, my bf asked if we were sending Christmas cards.  When I lived on the East coast, I always sent them since I was 3,000 miles away from most of my family.  I was single and didn't want to do one of those "here is what my year looked like" letters since um, it would be just about me and my cats, kinda lame.  Okay, VERY lame.  So now I have a bf, cats and a dog.  Still, does anyone want a letter about what I was up to, especially now that FB has become so prevalent in our lives.  I have decided that I will send out picture cards or letters once I have a baby.  So, in the meantime, what should I get for Christmas cards since P's family is now 3,000 miles away?  My family could live with 24 cards but he has a BIG family so I'll have to find out.  Here are the cards I love so far.  Now, I need to get onto ordering them.

To be honest, I know there are thousands of choices but I don't find that many have that special touch.  If you know of any grat card companies, let me know.  I also see why the personalized picture cards are so popular.
