Dreaming about backsplashes....

I have yet to have my countertops installed but it should be any day now.  Here are some dreams of what I would like for my backsplash.  You can find my full post at my other blog, 1916 Bungalow Hell...soon to be Heaven

A little Christmas cheer in 2D

The other day, my bf asked if we were sending Christmas cards.  When I lived on the East coast, I always sent them since I was 3,000 miles away from most of my family.  I was single and didn't want to do one of those "here is what my year looked like" letters since um, it would be just about me and my cats, kinda lame.  Okay, VERY lame.  So now I have a bf, cats and a dog.  Still, does anyone want a letter about what I was up to, especially now that FB has become so prevalent in our lives.  I have decided that I will send out picture cards or letters once I have a baby.  So, in the meantime, what should I get for Christmas cards since P's family is now 3,000 miles away?  My family could live with 24 cards but he has a BIG family so I'll have to find out.  Here are the cards I love so far.  Now, I need to get onto ordering them.

To be honest, I know there are thousands of choices but I don't find that many have that special touch.  If you know of any grat card companies, let me know.  I also see why the personalized picture cards are so popular.

I apologize for the interruption...

I have to apologize for the lack of posts.  Doesn't really help me gain followers I know.  I have been traveling a TON for work and everything else has been on hold.  I should be back in about a week.  So sorry.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Working towards compromise!

As most people who have co-habitated know, there are differing opinions to what decor goes up.  I had my "girly" apartment when I lived my last year in Boston knowing it might be my last.  I LOVED it!  My current SO had his little apartment and it was covered with these vintage military posters.  So here we are in this small 980 sf house and he wants to put all 4 up.  They are HUGE!  I agreed that I could put my 4 vintage horse frames up in one corner or something and he could put one up in the main rooms and 2 up in the office, if he didn't also want to put up his awards.  We have agreed that we will buy a lot of new frames and do some cool cluster frames in the LR and possibly DR.  One of the prints means a lot to him because he grew up with it in his basement and it is the same one his Dad has.  His Mom was lucky, they had a basement :)  I like them, I just don't want them all up.  Any advice???  Here are some pictures of his posters and my old apartment.

I apologize for the quality of the photos.  As you can see they are just sitting on the floor or somewhere right now.

Here are 3 of the 4 prints as well as my Boston apartment.  Thanks to Rachel and Rebecca for convincing me to buy that green couch.  I would get it again, but maybe in dark grey but I LOVED the green for that white apartment.

You can see the horse photos that he hates in my old apartment photos.  I could fit all 4 in one of his prints :)

Trick or Treat

Things have been really busy with work so unfortunately when that happens, my non-paying gig doesn't get much attention.  I have been working, trying to run Copley to the dog park before dark and making dinner.  It's nice to be busy but I wish I had more time..uh hum, motivation to get off my ass.  My scale gave me a little scare the other day but then today it was 5 pound lighter.  Anyhow, here was my Halloween.  Off to the dog park!!

Our pumpkin rotted the day before so we made him sick.

The ugly exterior before we get to redoing it.
